WHITE HOUSE SHOWDOWN!

On-camera shouting match as wall talks break down

CNN debunks Trump’s claim that terrorists crossed border

In a bizarre photo op, Trump went off his meds, nearly screaming as he badgered House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer in a televised Oval Office confrontation that resembled a food fight from Animal House. It ended with Sen. Schumer accusing Trump of throwing a “temper tantrum,” and Trump declaring he’d “be proud to shut down the government” to get his border wall.

Rep. Pelosi repeatedly asked the president to take the encounter off-camera but it continued for nearly 20 rancorous minutes before Trump finally ejected the media. Pelosi, who likely will become House Speaker next month, said “We came in here in good faith and we are entering into this kind of a discussion in the public view.”

During the televised portion of the meeting, Trump asserted that “10 terrorists” were caught at the U.S.-Mexico border “in a short period of time.” But CNN reports, “In the 450 cases of jihadist terrorism in the United States since 9/11, tracked by the research institution New America, not one involved a terrorist crossing the southern border into the United States.” (Click here for source.)

Within minutes after the press left the room, and Schumer and Pelosi walked out of the White House.  READMORE or watch the encounter in the video below. The thing you have to understand is that Trump’s demand for a wall isn’t about protecting our border with Mexico so much as it’s keeping a campaign promise to his supporters. That’s why he’s so adamant about it, and facts don’t really matter to him.
