Senate leaders emerged from a CIA briefing and said they were convinced that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was responsible for the journalist’s killing. One said if there was a trial, he would be convicted “in 30 minutes.”

The issue here is not just the horror that governs Saudi Arabia but the ineptitude of Donald Trump. His choices for dealing with this were difficult at best. However, after the naive attempt to create a Saudi concentric NATO, an alliance of Islamic thud states with Israel, Trump had no choice. Now, as with his dealings with Putin, Trump has no good choices.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker, R-Tenn., “I have zero question in my mind that the Crown Prince MbS ordered the killing, monitored the killing, knew exactly what was happening and planned it in advance,” Corker said to the reporters.
