Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who defied a Supreme Court decision by refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, has decisively lost her re-election bid. Davis, originally a Democrat who switched to the Republican Party, was defeated 54% – 46% by her Democratic challenger, Elwood Caudill, a long-time employee of the county valuation office.
