Washington D.C. wins Amazon HQ2 sweepstakes

The Washington Post, owned by Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, reported Sunday that Amazon is close to naming Crystal City, Virginia, as the site of its second headquarters, in walking distance of the Washington Monument and Reagan Airport. Crystal City has a unique underground pedestrian tunnel system connecting many of its offices, shops, and apartment buildings. The Washington D.C. suburb is home to several federal agencies, Pentagon satellite offices, and defense contractors. Read story here.

    Strange choice … UNLESS.

As far as I know there are no comparable companies with HQ near to DC. Arguments against doing this are immense .. housing costs and commutes make Seattle look like Kansas city with mountains.

And the tech talent pool in DC?? I guess there are a lot of underpaid coding moles at the CIA and DARPA?

So why has Bezos done this? Is he planning a corporate takeover of Trumpland?
