Police have charged Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, with the murder of Mollie Tibbets, who went missing a month ago while jogging in farm country near her small-town Iowa home. Surveillance video was instrumental in identifying Rivera, who led cops to a body in a cornfield which has not yet been positively identified but is believed to be Tibbets.
Tibbets, a 20-year-old college student, became the subject of a massive search. A $400,000 reward was offered for her safe return.
Rivera’s arrest undoubtedly will feed President Trump’s racist rants against Mexican immigrants.
