Speeding GOP legislator tells cop he’s above the law

When an Arizona legislator was pulled over for driving 97 mph in a 55 mph zone, he bragged that he sometimes drives 130 or 140 mph, and told the sheriff’s deputy to “not waste his time because he has legislative immunity,” CBS News reported Saturday. He happens to be wrong. Arizona legislators have a limited legislative immunity, but it doesn’t cover DUI or speeding infractions. Read story here.
