Reports of Mohammed bin Salman’s death are greatly exaggerated?

The interwebs spread the story that Trump ally Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia  had been assassinated.

,The buddy of Kushner had disappeared from public view  after prolonged heavy gunfire was heard at the royal palace in Riyadh in the middle of the night on April 21.   The Prince’s father, King Salman was reportedly been evacuated to a bunker at a military base.  The time Saudi state media dismissed reports on Twitter and elsewhere insisting instead the semi-automatic gunfire was merely aimed at a recreational drone that had flown too close to the palace walls.

Iran’s state media countered with its rumors and the fake news was in crisis with social media ablaze with rumors of the young ruler’s murder. The editor-in-chief of Tehran-based daily Kayhan editorialized: ‘At least two bullets have hit bin Salman in April 21 clashes in Riyadh and it is even possible that he is dead.’ Meanwhile, Saudi’s royals  in exile fed the flames by appeals to their kin to overthrow the Trump/Muhamud regime.

Oh well, The Spectator reports that the British Foreign Office says that  Crown Prince is alive and well. Muhamud was also photographed at the opening of the Qiddiya project, Saudi Arabia’s biggest cultural, sports and entertainment site on April 28. To head off talk of assassination, a palace courtier has released a photo of MBS socializing with King Hamad of Bahrain, President Sisi of Egypt and Abu Dhabi ruler Mohammed bin Zayed .. all parts of the Trump clique.

Trumps chaotic State Department did not help.  IMike Pompeo visited Saudi Arabia in late April but no photos or video footage of MBS with the US Secretary of State were seen and Pompeo’s State Department did not confirm that ahe and the Prince had met.

UPDATE: Following the publication of this article, the Saudi royal family yesterday permitted the distribution of a photograph https://mobile.twitter.com/ahmed/status/999035183188840448?s=12of the Crown Prince at a cabinet meeting in Jeddah looking in rude health. All’s well that ends well, then…
