Republican’s advice to kids: Take CPR classes

The always idiotic ex-Sen. Rick Santorum, who is perhaps most famous for his deer-in-headlights frozen silence as a crazy woman in one of his audiences screamed at him for not doing enough to stop the Communist Muslim Obama from launching a nuclear strike against Charleston Harbor, reacted to Saturday’s student march on Sunday by suggesting that “students protesting for gun control legislation would be better served by taking CPR classes and preparing for active shooter scenarios.” It must be admitted that these kids learning CPR at a place like Coast2Coast London would be a very positive experience but the semantics of Santorum’s comments are very troubling. School safety is of the utmost importance, especially within such troubled times, where violence in schools is more frequent. For this reason, there are precautions being taken that put school safety at the forefront. Schools all across the country are training teachers in first aid scenarios and have looked into the various equipment and training that might be needed, for example, the Powerheart G5 is a top-3 pick for a school AED and extreme first aid training is quickly becoming the go-to answer.

“How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that,” Santorum said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“Santorum dismissed the usefulness of ‘phony gun laws’ and appeared to call on students … to prepare to respond to further shootings,” CNN reported.

The good news is that Santorum is no longer a senator or running for president; and the even better news is that these kids will soon become voters, and are already getting a civics lesson in why it’s important to be careful about who you vote for, so you don’t get stuck with someone like Santorum.
