This is an ad for for Pepsi around 1945-1946, which is one of the first ads specifically targeted toward Black People. The young black kid in the picture is Ron Brown. Yes, Ron Brown the former United States Secretary of Commerce under Bill Clinton.
Yes the Ron” Brown that was the first Black to hold this position, and yes the Ron Brown was killed, along with 34 others, in a 1996 plane crash in Croatia. The strange thing is – he had a bullet hole in his head prior to the plane crash. So the theory is that he was actually murdered before the plane crashed.
