Al Arabiya television reported that the promotion of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef has been relieved of his post and replaced by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a royal decree said on Wednesday, in a promotion for King Salman’s 31-year-old son that confirms him as next ruler of the kingdom.
This kingdom is jumping a generation by appointing the young prince. He has been the lead in the war on Yemen, the effort to quarantine Qatar, and efforts to modernize the economy.
There have been rumors that he an ally of Trump in some possible pan Sunni recognition of Israel.
