A group of boys in block 66 at Buchenwald were led out of the camp the day before liberation (April 10) and put on a train to nowhere, which meandered east and south until finally liberated some three weeks later near Terezin. These included many of the boys who the late Sir Martin Gilbert wrote about, who came to Terezin either directly from Buchenwald or from several Buchenwald subcamps, including Schlieben. Subsequently, they were all together in Prague (second picture) and were taken to England, to Windermere. They are the founders and folks of the 45 Aid Society, led by Ben Helfgot. My friend Sid Finkel of Chicago is one of them. So were the Rosenblatt brothers…..
