Milwaukee sheriff threatens Democrats with violence

Milwaukee sheriff David Clarke, while attending inaugural festivities in D.C., made a clear and unambiguous threat Friday night:

“When Donald Trump actually takes that oath and is sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, the real fighting starts,” Clarke said in a video posted by the Daily Caller. “I’ll tell you what — you may know me, you may not — I’m one of those bare-knuckle fighters. When I hear people say that we need to reach across the aisle and work with people, with the Democrats, you know what I say? The only reason I’ll be reaching across the aisle is to grab one of them by the throat.”

Earlier this week, Clarke made headlines by threatening an airline passenger who recognized him and asked if he was the sheriff, and then walked away silently when Clarke became belligerent. The passenger later was accosted, detained, and questioned in the Milwaukee airport by six deputies with police dogs. After the man filed a complaint, Clarke posted his picture on line and threatened him. He has hired a lawyer to sue Clarke and Milwaukee County.
Clarke also has made racist remarks, calling a CNN commentator a “jigaboo.” Several people, including a baby, have died in the jail he’s responsible for administering. One of those prisoners died of thirst after being denied water for several days.
Clarke gets elected in Milwaukee County, which votes Democratic and has a large black population, by running as a Democrat. But he “supports Republicans, speaks at Republican events and raises money for Republicans,” according to the local newspaper.
