Dayenu “Enough” What to hope for during the HILLARY Clinton Years

Image result for DayenuDayenu is a Hebrew word used during Passover to list all the many things Jews thank God for.  Most of the Dayenu’s are small things, some are big.  Given all the challenges we face as Americans, I want to list what I hope will be enoughs to wish f9or under Mrs. Clintin.

I think we all know Clinton has won. So now is the time to brace ourselves for what’s coming next. Obama didn’t transform this nation. But she will. He was just the “warm-up.”  In 10-20 years you might be surprised at how much actually changes.

– Will pick 3-4 Supreme Court justices.
– ^^^ Supreme court moves permanently left  We win.

-Will provide leadership that the minority of Republicans who are rational can support.

– Picks hundreds of federal judges
– ^^^ Judicial system moves permanently left We win.

– Pursues amnesty, new immigrants and refugees
– ^^^  Rational immigration policies, provides much needed young work force and allows us to recruit the best new Americans from  around the world.  We win.

– Passes TPP with reforms
– ^^^ global trade is a necessity, but we also need to protect American jobs with investments in training and infrastructure.  Meanwhile this is huge blow against Chinese and Russian imperialism. We win.

Moves beyond  ACA
– ^^^  Without reform the US healthcare system would bankrupt us while depriving all but the most wealthy of healthcare.  We win.

– Rationalizes taxes to optimize opportunity rather than accumulation of bizarre and unproductive wealth.
– ^^^ Returns US to its promise of upward mobility.  We win.

– Creates rational efforts to transition energy and avert climate disaster
– ^^^ The touted energy independence resulting from fracking will die as we continue to run out of oil.  We will begin real investments in energy efficiency… infrastructure!  We win.

– Develops a foreign  policy based in cooperation with like-minded democracies and a balance of power so the US can finally end its role as world cop.
-^^^ The US is simply not big enough to govern the world.  We win.

– Places  government + corporate spying/surveillance under strict controls
^^^ We need web surveillance to combat  terrorism but we need to find ways of doing this that protect individual freedom.  The same is true, maybe more so, of the abuses of data mining by big corporations. We win.

– Creates funding for higher education.
