Racism:Flames in the Swimming Pool

920x920

As for who is causing trouble, I think the real issue may be the self conscious protesters on Facebook.

This poster lit a minor flame on Facebook.  Some African Americans took offence because they saw the “uncool” label being applied only to the  kids’ color as brown or black in the stupid cartoon.

My take is a bit different. The poster IS racist because it sees the US as divided between “blacks and whites.”  The untallented artist tries to show the USA as 50% black and 59% white. Either the artist’s eyes are tinted by America’s racism or her pallet was limited .. lacking the colors red and yellow or the real world shades or brown .  Or maybe, the issue was not all that high on her mind until someone noticed?

racism revisedsAs for who is causing trouble, I think the real issue may be the self conscious protesters on Facebook.  I see two “black” kids labelled and two black and white pairs where the couple are labelled . Only one “white” guy is not cool. Both folks labelled as “cool” are ” white” and the lady life guard is “black.”   I guess all would be well if we just labelled the “black kid”  playing nice with the whtie kid as cool?

I am tagging this post “hypocrisy” ans “people of color.”  Oh and I xided the graphic too.  I added a yarmulke to one of the “white” life guards.

Added a yarmulke to one of the ‘white’ life guards does not show inclusion but your personal racism. the question is why so you want to degrade Jews?

Isn’t it intent that makes an argument? Sometimes intent is subtle and cannot be proven. Sometimes intent is blatant. I can except inclusiveness. I cannot accept revision which the poster was clearly revised to make a point . But what is the point. I agree with the poster that there is hypocrisy here. Howwver I am against the revision because the author of the poster was deemed to see in black and white. Maybe his intent was not racist but merely a subconcioous profiling which has run rampant even more rampant than racism. The arguenent was black and white . The attempt was inclusion which is a blatant I know better than you what you mean. Bottom line it is a safety poster transformed for the sake of a portion of our society that seeks not equality but control. Contol is the bottom line.

I call a pox on both sides. The Red Cross for making an polotically correct poster and the reactionaries for seeing racims when nnw was intended.

    Racism is simply wrong.
