I guess I owe everyone an apology for eating Yankee burger in a Nigerian hotel in Lagos. I came by today to correct the situation. I asked for the local fare menu and it was rich, however the competition within the hotel complex is such that you cannot be served anything not on the menu at the restaurant you’re dining at. And my presentations are with the management of the Italian restaurant. They politely informed me that I can get a local fare served but I have to eat it away from the view of their Nigerian guests. Knowing how Nigerians can be sometimes, they will go to an Italian restaurant and demand to be served fufu. Anyway, the wonderful folks at the restaurant obliged me and I had pounded yam and edikikong. The waiter can’t take pictures, sorry. I will be back tomorrow and I promise to give you evidence that Eko Suites Hotels doesn’t cater to foreigners only. As a matter of fact, the only foreigners I see here are Nigerians who carry American and British passports. Im yet to run into a Nigerian with a Chinese or Japanese passport.
