Somebody Needs to Ask Cruz and Rubio: How Come Cuban Immigrants are OK?

Why isn’t this an issue for Trump?

Tens of thousands of Cubans are immigrating to the US with none of the screening efforts required for Mexicans, Costa Ricans, or anyone else from south of the border.

While the  Cubano wannabee Presidents threaten mass deportations of Latin Americans because they are illegal, Cubano cubans cruz rubiothe United States assists Cubans on their journey north by supporting camps in Costa Rica.  These “legals” are part of tens of thousands of Cubans immigrating into the US with no problems.   The  Cuban Adjustment Act, of 1966 law  gives Cubans the right to enter the United States, even if they paid illegal smugglers to make the journey.

Not only can anyone from Cuba claim immigrant status by just getting to the US, the NY Times reports that the United States government is paying for the feed and shelter of thousands of Cubans trying to migrate to the United States.

From the NY Times, “American law gives Cubans special status. With no questions asked, they can live in the United States and apply for a green card.  In January, the United States pledged $1 million to help provide temporary shelter, potable water, food, sanitation and hygiene kits to thousands of Cubans who were stranded in Costa Rica while trying to make their way to the American border.

“Tens of thousands of Cubans have been arriving each year to the southwestern United States border after making an arduous journey by land through eight nations. But Nicaragua put a stop to the exodus by refusing them passage in November, causing a bottleneck of about 8,000 Cubans in Costa Rica and 3,000 in Panama.”

Of course, this is Obama’s fault.  A Republican Congressman from Florida, Representative Carlos Curbelo,    President Obama was to blame for the migration crisis because he had normalized relations with Cuba.  Curbelo, a Cubano brother to Cruz and Rubio,  said the donation was important anyway to support a major partner in the region. “Costa Rica has always been a key ally in the region and offered assistance to these Cubans after the Marxist government of Nicaragua shut its border in a geopolitical dispute,” “The following crisis exasperated Costa Rican resources as the migrants piled up in that country. Throughout, the Costa Rican people demonstrated great humanity and hospitality to these migrants.”
