GOP Senator: Gov’t shouldn’t make restaurant workers wash hands after using bathroom

Republican argues for ‘market-based solution’ to feces under fingernails in restaurant kitchens.

Thom Tillis (R-GA) thinks it’s okay for restaurants to serve contaminated food. He just thinks if restaurants don’t require employees to wash their hands after using the bathroom, “the market will take care of that.” He’d let them “opt out” of complying with health regulations if they put up a sign warning customers. But wait, who will enforce the sign requirement?
