Susan DeLemus was a member of a focus group of Trump supporters explaining why they support their candidate. In this video, she rants about lying politicans:
“We’ve got people who are in positions of power who I know for a fact are liars. Liars! My president comes on the TV and he lies to me! I know he’s lying to me! I know he’s lying! He lies to me all the time. I don’t believe any one of them. I believe Donald. I’m telling you, he says what I’m thinking! Never been involved in politics. Never had an interest in any of it. Now suddenly he is resonating. He is resonating with the people, and he is speaking our minds. Our minds. When the pundits, and the experts, and all the people who are supposed to be ‘in the know,’ and know all this stuff, and they’re so great — I know some of them are lying to me. Straight to my face. And I am so sick of it.”
Okay, we get that Ms. DeLemus doesn’t like lying liars. But guess what? This woman, a GOP legislator from New Hampshire, prominent “birther,” and as virulent an Obama-hater as you’ll find anywhere, tried with other lawmakers from her party to keep President Obama off New Hampshire’s ballot in 2012 on the grounds that his Hawaii birth certificate is fake and he isn’t a U.S. citizen — a claim so ludicrous and reason-defying it’s fair to call it a “lie” and label its proponents “liars.” (Read the story here and here). And now she’s going all-in for a candidate who promises the moon, spouts a whopper a minute, and won’t abide by pledges to his own party.
