How to go to jail by selling a home

Lying on real estate forms can get you into big trouble. A Florida couple who discovered a sinkhole under their home, pocketed a $153,000 insurance payment without fixing it, then sold the home without disclosing the defect to the unwitting buyers, has been convicted of wire fraud by a federal jury and could get up to 20 years in prison.
