Bus passengers shame Boston cops into not using their guns

The scene is a Boston bus. A cop is trying to arrest a theft suspect. When she resists and pushes him away, he draws his gun. The crowd on the bus begins chanting, “Drop the gun!” and eventually he holsters it. A second cop boards the bus and he, too, goes for his gun. Again the crowd chants, “Drop the gun!” and he, too, puts his gun away. Did this crowd save the woman’s life? Dunno. Maybe knowing they were being video recorded gave these cops pause. Who knows if they would’ve shot her otherwise, but to most people, pulling a gun on someone means you intended to use it. Read the story here.
