A mother and daughter having dinner together in New York apparently were mistaken for a lesbian couple by a group of inebriated diners who taunted and assaulted them last weekend. Police said a man and two women cursed, uttered anti-gay slurs, threw objects, and then assaulted the pair. The daughter sustained a cut knee from being dragged across the floor that required stitches, while her mother sustained cuts from broken beer bottles and numerous bruises.
