Weight Loss in the Schwartz family

Fat man

From Facebook. Even I do not look this bad though I do like subs!  Looks photoshopped?

My brother Hugh has lost 120 pounds!  Amazing.  He hassles me abut my weight and he is right.  I have been trying and have now lost 40!

It is hard t do this.  At my age I am not concerned with longevity … my main concern is to be here as long as my great wife is alive. We are both in our 70s and have had an amazing 51 years of marriage!  I want to live with her as long as I can be her love. Then too, we are boaters and even on a power boat there is a need to bend over to untie lines, drop the anchor etc.

I will try to live up  (down?) to Hugh’s standard!  The alternative ??

The alternative is to correct your legacy in the short time you have left before you meet your maker. Based on the garbage you repeatedly post at this website and at Facebook and LinkedIn, about them and others, you are rightfully considered an angry and bitter old man who slings mud and shit with equal abandon and apparent glee.

If you ever want to restore your former reputation as being a thoughtful and wise elder statesman who promotes wisdom and tolerance, you have a simple path forward: Delete all the crap you’ve posted, terminate the frivolous lawsuit you filed, apologize to your sibs for the grief you have given them, and commit yourself to T’Shuvah.

The “frivolous law suit” he refers to is to get the WWII materials from wherever Hugh has hidden them (he will not say) and to the New England Document Center where they will be archivally processed, digitized and inventoried. Although Bill published a scurrilous claim that the pictures were not what they appear to be and what my Dad had talked about, these were taken in Buchenwald and processed literally under battlefield conditions. Improperly processed, many have already faded beyond restoration. Worse the survivors ..inmates and some of the soldiers, are now in their netoes and will soon all be dead.

I do not think this is a frivolous suit.

    You’re being petulant.

I’ll delete the word <<>> and ask you to re-read, and act upon my advice:

I was pleased to read about your weight loss if it is ready true. Unfortunately, you have a track record of being less than factual in your emails and on your blog. The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself. So, I truly hope you are making this progress with your weight loss.

As someone who has made this transition and who sincerely hopes that it is first step to you returning to being the person I used to admire, please accept my advice. You need to do this for yourself first because you wish to enjoy the love of your wife, children, and granchild. (I was surprised that your posting failed to mention Havi, Hillel, and Ziva.)

It would also be extremely helpful for you to make peace with youself, as well as the love/hate relationship that you had with Dad and now with all your sibs and their families. Carrying on your crusade is very detrimental to your health and to those you claim to care about (including the memory of Dad).

Janet and I visited Mom and Dad’s grave yesterday. I am sure they would not be pleased how you have managed to fracture the family.

Good luck with your weight loss.

    Regards,

    Hugh
