Nate’s Wings and Waffles is expected to open in August at 12th and E Jefferson. I hope the food is better than the Renton location … tiny pieces of chicken and less than imaginative sauces. Meantime L’il Woody’s Marcus Lalario is opening a new place, Fat’s Chicken and Waffles, same time at the old Catfish Corner space. (Catfish is back down in Rainier Beach. Smaller space, same catfish. We ate there, I am still not a fan of catfish. ) Back at Fat’s Chicken and Waffles the menu sounds interesting … shrimp and grits, biscuits and gravy, chicken biscuit sandwiches, fried okra, jambalaya, oyster po boys, and (sadly) catfish.
