New York City’s consumer watchdog has accused Whole Foods of “pervasively” exaggerating the weights of meat, dairy, and baked goods packages, asserting the upscale grocer’s 8 stores in New York City committed “thousands of violations.”

CBS News says Whole Foods paid $800,000 in fines for similar violations in California last year. In that case, investigators found stores included container weights in food weights, among other violations.
