Are you Black?

We are just going to act like some Black people were not acting like Bill Clinton was Black because he played a mean saxophone, smoked weed, and cheated on his wife.  Ignoring the fact that his politics were extremely White.

On the other hand, some Black people were calling Tiger Woods white because of the tone of his voice, the sport he played and the way he carried himself.  What is weird about Tiger Woods, is that at the very same time some of those same Black people were proud of his achievements, solely because of the color of his skin.

It took Tiger Woods a long time to actually publicly acknowledge that he was Black.  His reasoning for not acknowledging Blackness, was more about his cultural upbringing and his genetic make up, rather than ignoring the fact that his skin color was Black.

Woods, only became Black to some Black people after his adulterous ways went public.

How do Black people view Black culture? It seems like it was only a matter of time before we heard stories like Rachel Dolezals.

Black people have sold Black culture, just as much as white people have taken it.  We have asked others to cultivate it for us.  This is the case all the way back to the Harlem Renaissance.

Some Black entertainers make a living perpetuating stereotypes of Black people.  I haven’t heard the term “sell out” in a long time.  It seems like anything goes as long as it makes a dollar now of days.

White entertainers may not be painting themselves, but some white entertainers are emulating what they and the companies they make money for perceive to be Black. Whimovies_stepin_fetchitle  some Black people are disgusted, there are some Black people who seem to embrace the modern-day vaudeville and stepin fetch shows that can be heard on major radio stations across the nation and seen on t.v.s and computers.  There are some Black people talking about race being a social construct, but do we really believe that when some of us base a persons blackness more on behavior, than the color of an individuals skin.  Biologically speaking the term “Black” does not exist.  It seems that some Black people that want to eliminate racism, have actually bought into the idea of it.  In some ways it is impossible not to based on the fact that we live in the most racist country on the planet.
