MLK Day: Solving the Black Problem

RACE IS NOT THE PROBLEM

The problem created for all Americans by the existence of Black America is not just “race.”   Jews are not a race .. despite the Nazi’s phony science, you can not measure someone’s head and determine they are “Aryan” or “Jew.”  Nonetheless Jews lived in ghettos in Germany until well into the late 1800s.  Even when the walls came down, the bigotry stayed. Hitler “solved” the Jewish problem in a horrible way.

Jews had lived in Germany for 400 years.   The Black problem in the US  has  lasted 400 years. The ghettos of Europe did not fix the Jewish problem … Israel found a better answer. But, Blacks in the US are not Israelis and the idea of Blacks living on some reservation is hardly a good idea!  We already tried that .. the result is called Liberia.  African Americans are Americans!

The focus on skin color as a cause of racial discrimination is false.  Being Black is not the same as being a “person of color.”  Despite a lot of liberal hypocrisy, Indian Americans Arab Americans, or Chinese Americans face very little “racial” discrimination.  Integration of immigrants  is not dependent on  skin color. Jews, Italians, Germans, have integrated but so have Japanese and Koreans.  Even Caribbean Americans do very well as immigrants.  Eric Holder and Colin Powell have origins very different from the “roots” that underlay Michael Brown or THE Ave’s own Anthony Washington.

The problem is deeply rooted in the razi like classification of Black Americans as a race.  That racism has done terrible things to the Black family and Black community,  problems that only the Black community and Black leaders who remain in that community can solve. The problem is not going to be solved by Nazi extermination, Israeli style apartheid, Native American reservations, or gradual loss of the black culture to inter “racial” marriage.   Solutions here must come ffrom changing the false impression that an African appearance makes one part of some underclass and ftom all Americans coming to value the huge strengths of African American culture. .
