Funny thing .. people who comment here seem to think they are anonymous. There are ways to do that but Charlie the Tuna seemed to be a bit less than honest when he claimed not to come from South Carolina.
His comment is especially funny because “Charlie the Tuna” appeared recently in the comment threads after The Ave posted a story about three white South Carolina officers who were indicted for shooting an unarmed black man . “Charlie” rose to the defense of his South Carolina home.
I thought the defense was odd because very few folks know my Charlie the Tuna story . Suffice it to say that my Charlie the Tuna was a nickname for our commanding officer when I was in the US Navy. Charlie cam across as a cross between Nathan Lane in Birdcage and Humphrey Bogart playing Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny. The men of Long Beach Regional Navy Medical Center gave our Captain that nickname when Charlie was passed over for promotion.
So, it seemed that Charlie had to be someone who knew me and had heard the story of Charlie the Tuna. I don’t know many folks in South Carolina other than my sister and brother in law, Stephanie and William Quick. These folks chose to retire to SC, presumably because of the low taxes and warm weather. I suspect they 
are also rather immune to the bizarre racism and far right extremism that affects the Palmetto State. I do know some of my posts about South Carolina get critical comments from troll”s” in that less than admirable state.
I used the usual web tools to find where the comment came from. Sure enough ,., it came from North Charleston SC .. their home.
The story gets funnier. I did not see any reason to identify the Quicks at the moment so I stored a screen clip from the IP search in THE Ave archive. Who woulda thunk someone would search THE Ave for all references to Charlie the Tuna?
The sad truth is that THE Ave has become somewhat of an obsession for Stephanie and Bill. Based on Whereis and similar tools, it seems that a number of trolls here on TA, “Roberta Flack” and “Bob Raymond.” also live at an IP address near to their home in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Mr. Raymond, who passes for a Black Phd, is especially weird. I assume Bob is not my ister Steph. Why would a white guy like Bill Quick pass for a Black guy? Why would Bill Quick be so concerned with TA to be searching our archives from 1942. Well, it turns out that Bill and Steph have gone even further, harassing my employer, the University of Washington, with charges that I am some sort of a pervert and imposter. Anyone interested in Bill can read more about him on older posts at THE-Ave.US .
I never claimed “not to come from South Carolina” as the author of this blog implies here. Contrariwise, when he asked “Sorry? I thought you lived in South Carolina? Where do you live?” I replied “NOYFB”. And indeed it is not his business, but he obviously has way too much time on his hands if he 1) seeks out the location of people posting here, and 2) takes the time to generate a graphic to illustrate his theory. BTW, the interested reader (Roger Rabbit and probably no one else) will see that he backdated this post to January 1st, 1942 to try to hide it,

After posting this. we got a phone call from Bill Quick. He was irate, threatening law suits. Told me that >>I<< had been harassing him! Interestingly he also said he was recording the phone call and would use the recording to file suit if I did not take this post down.
