Let’s do a trade: You can have the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11/2001, and do whatever you want to do them, and I’ll look the other way and never say a thing about it. In return, you’ll agree to this: If it turns out you tortured an innocent person, due to faulty intelligence or mistaken identity or whatever, you’ll be tied naked to a chair and he’ll be given a sharp knife and five minutes alone with you in a soundproofed room.
