(TAN: Hollywood) Disney Studios has announced that they will continue production of their first effort at creating “Shakespeare for Kids.” A remake of the classic Henry the VIIIth, using an all Black cast.
The movie, Henry VIIIth, has gathered some controversy because of recent claims that its star, Bill Cosby, had been playing a secret role as Lothario in off Broadway productions. Robert A. Iger , Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, said the studio had been assured by Mr. Cosby that he will play this role in his persona as Dr. Cliff Huxtable. Mr. Iger said, “The Lothario role may have uniquely prepared Mr. Cosby, for his new role.” Mr. Cosby said, “As an actor, I have always believed that the performance is who I really am. As an African American I feel the opportunity to play a great English King, is too important not only to me but to the heritage of actors who will follow me.”
