We are in the midst of a period of false outrage (especially on Fox News) combined with liberal hypocrisy.
A good example of this furor in the right wing webosphere reporting on a story about an Islamic school in Toronto where pre schoolers were being instructed in the finer art of beheading.
The story was true! Shia Islam is very gory … built around the horrors of the Sunni Muslim execution of Ali, a nephew of the Prophet who aspired to succeed Mohamed as the legitimate caliph or leader of the Muslim people. Right or wrong, Shia Muslims have sought retribution ever since. Today’s threat of Shiite Iran holding nuclear weapons is all too real and reflected in the gore by ISIS … Sunni effort at a caliphate that is too willing to uses beheading in its own version of Islamic law.
Of course Fox and Friends revel in this sort of gore. Liberals respond by hiding their heads in the sand. This combination can be dangerous. Bill Maher, a ham-handed ideological comedian of the left, gets dissed for saying that Islam is a flawed religion while Ayan Hirsi Ali has her honorary degree from Brandeis revoked for being an outspoken critic of the way her former religion mistreats women and promotes slavery. Meanwhile the Fauxist GOP conflates fear of Islam with Ebola and racism in an effort to frighten Americans to vote for the GOP.
