Care About the Husky Logo
So much love for the UW from a guy who went to a school that has no football team and a big eyed owl as its logo! This seemed extraordinary!
This dawg was on the web. The purple and gold backdrop probably is something that would upset my bro!
Now my brother can get obsessive and Hugh’s concern was so great that he complained … not to me but to the Provost and the President, dozens of emails expressing worry that the good name of the University would be profaned by the Ave’s pornography and racism!
Such concern was worthy of the movie Casablanca!!!!!!!!
Our Provost is a good person. She would not tell me who had complained but she said some folks had complained that THE Ave’s use of a husky dog could be confusing. This worried me … after all, I have no reason to offend Husky fans!

I tried to weasel out of this by explaining I had drawn the dog myself! I explained that I based my drawing on one of the logos I found for another school. I told her that a LOT of schools (and even some businesses) have husky dogs as their logo! Just look here at the gif I made for this post. Hell, a lot of these are more to my taste than the Udub’s version of the Nike swoop!

But wait. I do feel a website that claims to be sort of a neighborhood pub for the UW should have a dawg. So, Bill, the artist who created THE Ave street sign logo, has drawn one for us. Here it is ….
