NORTH KOREA: Family Feuds Have Consequences

captureWhat The Kim Family’s Youngest Brother is Doing to Korea

Yesterday THE Ave reported on the internecine family feud between the 30 year old “Dear Leader” and his family.  We wrote of the consequences of family feuds for others.  Recently Amnesty International reported on satellite images of Camp 14, a notorious North Korean prison camp. The rights group says the image shows a network of what appears to be guard posts enclosing a valley and a small town, indicating not an expansion of the sprawling Camp 14, as originally thought, but authorities’ control of those living beyond the camp’s perimeter.

The resemblance to Germany’s prison camp culture is frightening.  When I visited Dachau, the towns people had erected a sign saying they did not know what was happening within the Nazi’s camp.  This was absurd because the camp was so close to downtown that the citizens would have had not only to be deaf and blind but with no capacity to smell.
