Why the Repricans WANTED to end the filibuster!

CruzThe good news is that the Senate will now confirm people we need to run the government.

The bad news is that by forcing this measure the Repricans have done major damage to the unwritten constitution.

When Madison and his colleagues wrote the first constitution, they imagined it as way for one party, albeit a party of divers interests and opinions, to run a government without needing the overall authority of a royal highness.  The constitution does not envisage political parties.

Soon enough this idealistic concept broke down and we had Adams leading the conservatives (Whigs?) and Jefferson leading the liberals (Democrats?).  tpdays structure of party leadership, like those in Britain’s unwritten constitution, never got added to o0ur written one.

So we have the filibuster, a device intended to moderate extremism by a President or even a party holding the legislature and the administration.

UNTIL THE TEA PARTY.  These folks do not want government tp work, they want it to NOT workThey are already threatening what they will do if and when they come into power.
