The national media is at it again. .. those stupid, science denying Seattleites
When Seattle elected Norm Rice, a moderate banker as mayor, the national media paraded Norm because his skin was black. Now e have elected someone with tawny skin (no longer so interesting to the media) but she calls herself a “socialist.” What does this leftish brown economics professor stand for? Radical things like a progressive tax on Seattle uber wealthy and a minimum wage closer to the poverty level. My God, that is enough to want me to have the black mayor back instead of the white gay guy we just elected!

Alex B. Berezow of Forbes and RealClearScience is even worse. He is outraged that a socialist could be allowed to teach at a college .. Seattle Central Community College in this case. Apparently Professor Sawant believes in such a person “Yet, shockingly, socialists can regularly be found on college campuses. … how can somebody with her beliefs be allowed to teach an economics course? This would be analogous to allowing an AIDS denier to teach a medical microbiology course, a 9/11 truther to teach a foreign policy course, or a creationist to teach an evolution course.”
Mr. Berezow has two questions for us:
“First, why would Seattle Central Community College allow Dr. Sawant (yes, she actually has a Ph.D. in economics) anywhere near students? And second, to the citizens of Seattle, how does one of the most educated cities in America allow themselves to get duped?”
