B&N to Close a Third of Stores
So, the gods of capitalism caused there to be the mega bookstore. Soon, all the small bookstores gave up and went out of business. Even university book stores became faux fronts for Barnes and Nobel. B&N faced off with Borders, but the inevitable triumph happened …one remained supreme .. an apparent monopoly.
“Apparent” only lasted until a better monopoly emerged .. an Amazon. So Amazon is the new maonopoly fighting a residual marketplace controlled by B&N and the five or so mega publishers.
Of course we should all trust Jeff Bezos to support free speech as the sole remioaning book store owner!
