BREAKING NEWS: Agriculture reforms in North Korea!

Exclusive: North Korea plans agriculture reforms

BEIJING – North Korea plans to allow farmers to keep more of their produce in an attempt to boost agricultural output, a source with close ties to Pyongyang and Beijing said, in a move that could boost supplies, help cap rising food prices and ease malnutrition.

Estimates made by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) consistently rank North Korea as the 10th largest producer of fresh fruits like apples, peaches, nectarines, and pears. North Korea also ranks 12th in fresh vegetable production. Yet, this food production wasn’t enough to prevent a famine of biblical proportions in the 1990s, which according to The Wall Street Journalmay have cost the lives of two million North Koreans. Apparently all that produce is for export only.

Presumably the same woujld be true if, as rumored, North Korea and Apple agree to open factory in the HermitKingdom?
