Amazon Seems to Think Its “A” Stands for Apple

This reads a LOT like WWJD … that is what would  Jobs do?

I have been thinking about getting a Fire but with Sprint starting to support the iPad and offering 4G on the Motorola Zoom (now a product of Google),  it seems to me that either of those is a better choice even if the difference in cost is a couple of hundred dollars.

It seems as if the KindleFire is going to be restricted to things that can be done within the Amazon Universe.

Even at $200, this seems to me t undercut the value of the gadget.  I suspect the only thing a Fire will offer that a more robust Samsung or Google/Motorola tablet dose not offer is use of Amazon’s cloud based Tablet services.  That is a big deal but when the competition is Google and when Amazon is unlikely to withdraw from selling stuff on iPads, Androids, and (soon I hope) Win 8 tabs, why would Amazon think it can go to toe to to with the others?

Furthermore, as a  retailer, Amazon NEEDS ot have good apps on everyone else’s tablet. So why pay $200 for a castrati when you can by a full featured tablet for $500?
