The ACLU-WA cosponsors the Bush School Diversity Speakers Series, featuring Michelle Alexander.
Alexander argues that we have not ended racial caste in America; we have merely redesigned it. Join us for a
spirited discussion of whether a new Jim Crow system is thriving in the age of Obama. Alexander is associate
professor at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law and the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and
Ethnicity. Previously she was director of the Racial Justice Project for the ACLU of Northern California and
director of Stanford’s Civil Rights Clinic. Her new book is “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of
Colorblindness.” Free and open to the public.
